Patches and updates for The Sims 4 are set to download and install automatically, but this behavior can be disabled. However, when a new patch is released, online features will be unavailable until it is patched to the latest version.I am going to assume from what has been said that hair and clothes also fall into a reasonably safe category of CC to use.
Sims 4 New Patch Download And InstallSims 4 New Patch Mods And CcHi, I am used to playing with mods and cc with other sims series that have finished completely but never usually add cc to an ongoing series because of the patches and potential problems however while I understand mods require patching with every new patch does CC require updating with every patch as well Also with 3 there was programs we could download to check for bad CC prior to adding it to the game so am wondering if there is anything similar for 4 as I cannot find anything after a search For example, I am starting small and looking for the following CC but am not sure if I should be looking for 2017 CC only or can I go back years eyes (wondering if its still a choice between default and non-default types) and if supernatural like vampires are a different download skins wondering who makes the best 4 skins and again does it have to be default or are there non-default version plus do they cover all age groups eyelashes eyeliners and eyeshadows cheeks blusher False Nails natural looking hair Advice please and any links to what you consider to be the best CC if possible for me to try. Only in certain occasions when Maxis changes something, like when they improved the lighting in game, that broke all CC lights which was a pain in the butt. But besides that, I dont recall ever having a piece of CC getting broken with a patch and I have 5GB worth of CC. The only problems Ive had was when a certain CC was badly made and caused problems in game. I dont think theres a program that looks for corrupted CC yet. Theres the Sims 4 Studio which can help you view the CC you have and delete it from the game but I dont think theres a way to tell if a CC is bad. There are skins who cover all age groups and there are others who are only Teen-Elder. It also depends if you want it to be maxis match or a more realistic look. TS4s style is really different from TS3, its more cartoony, but there are people who still want their sims to look like TS3, so there is a bunch of different CC out there. Personally I like all CC to be maxis match because I like the art style from TS4 and I use this skin and eyes as defaults. I dont even feel like I need other CC skins and eyes because these look really good. Skin (careful, some preview images are NSFW) EDIT: Wrong link Edited to include the updated one. Eyes (these include ones for aliens and vampires as well) ( these are good too) For the other things on your list, I use these and I think they are the best out there. Eyelashes. There are a bunch of styles and different colors. Nails: here, here (love these two by Veranka), here, here and here (really love these as well). Not sure what you mean with natural looking hair You mean the style or colors Or by natural you mean that looks more realistic (or as people call it, alpha hair) I only use maxis match so I know nothing about alpha hair. Mods that alters gameplay or tunes it, might need to be updated. CC doesnt break as often but again it depends on what the patch changes. Should you encounter any issues, you can remove one mod at a time till the issue goes away, that will tell you which mod it is. Those things you mentioned, rarely gets touched in any patches, so you should be fine. You can look at CC that was mode some years ago, but if you are new to this its probably better to stay close to newly released CC. The reason for this is that for example, when toddlers came out most of the CC skins didnt work on toddlers, the modders had to update it. And toddlers aint the first thing where something like that has happened. Apologies when I said natural looking hair I meant less of a fixed look but did not say that Also the info on how maxis changing the lighting creating a problem with CC lights was interesting as I had not looked at it from that perspective before. Zafireria at the moment I have only added 3 mods which I know are patched to the latest patch and so far in game with seem fine but thank you for the info about looking at the patch notes to see which areas have been changed I never thought of doing that before-) I was also wondering about skin as the temptation to start with is to download one that says all ages but as I have also noticed toddler skin as well so I realised the skin is going to have to be dated after the toddler patch if I want one skin for all age groups.
